horrible situation with a relative.. advice, sensitive situation

DH and I have a family member that did something very horrible to me 5 years ago. Since then we have ceased ALL contact with this person, despite the fact we occasionally see them at family functions. 

Today, DH gets a text " congrats were so happy for you. Looking forward to meeting your son'

My immediate response is wanting to write back and say "F*** off, your lucky we didnt have your ass thrown in jail"  .. instead we have just sat here in stunned silance ignoring the text. 

What would you do? It took me 4 years of therapy to deal with this trauma, and I feel sick to my stomach that this person is trying to invite themselves back in my life.
