Hypospadias?

My DS was diagnosed with a very slight hypospadias.  The pedi said it may not even require surgery but we wont know until we free  the skin up for the circumcision, so we havent been able to do that yet (dont want to "waste" the foreskin since it is needed if surgery is required). 

We have our first consult with the pediatric urologist in a couple weeks.  I am just nervous.  I dont want my baby getting anesthesia and/or having surgery    Have any of you had any experience with this?  If so, did it require surgery?  How did everything go?  I would just like a little insight as to what to expect.
