Frequent ear infections

My son got an ear infection at 2 months old...now he is 4 months and I suspect he has another one (I'm taking him to the doctor today).

I've heard various stories of how to prevent these ear infections, from sitting him up while feeding him (can someone explain how that is supposed to work while breastfeeding??) to taking him to a chiropractor.

Does anyone have experience/advice??
