Help! Ranitidine for my 6-week-old's reflux?

My 6 week old daughter just had a check-up a few days ago. I was breastfeeding her while we waited for the doctor and after feeding, she spit up. She spits up after EVERY feeding. I felt ignorant finding out this isn't normal. Her pediatrician recommended pumping a bit of fore-milk out before feeding her to see if that makes a difference. It did not. Therefore, she was prescribed Ranitidine (Zantac) to treat gastroesophageal reflux. Possible side effects include constipation, diarrhea, headache, nausea, or stomach upset.. among many other things! I know there are side effects with all medicines, but I don't like the idea of giving anything other than my breast-milk to her. Does anyone have a natural solution to help with this, or does anyone give their baby this medicine??? I need piece of mind before having her consume something that could cause symptoms that she cannot tell me about.
