Starting a schedule

When did you start trying to get LO on a schedule? My DS is only sleeping about 3-4 at a time at night. He is starting to eat a little more at a time (4-6 oz) so I'm hoping this will lead to him sleeping longer! Any suggestions on how to establish a schedule so when I go back to work I'm not dragging so much??? TIA!!!
