Watery/ Mucous in eyes

After our DS circumcision today, we have noticed that his eyes seem to be tearing up. They are watery and have mucous in them. One is a tad bit worse than the other. We just really started noticing it when we had visitors over this evening and one of them mentioned it. It wasn't too bad earlier in the day. Now of course I'm worried that something is wrong. He is having a hard time opening the one that has more in it. We have taken a warm wash cloth to try to get it off and did the best that we could, but is there anything else that we should try? Should I call the emergency line at our dr's in the morning if it gets worse or just wait until Monday when the office opens again?
