What do Braxton Hicks Contractions feel like??

I've been having Severe cramping in my pelvic area that feels like ungodly horrible period cramps that come and go. I was just wondering what the BHC are suppose to feel like & if that is what this is or something else?

 It first came mainly if I had been on my feet for a while or walked for more than an hour at a time. But now it seems like it comes and goes out of the blue while I'm sitting or after I've eaten a meal-Just wondering from some of you guys that have had these and could shed some light for me TIA Hugs*
