PNP's vs Bassinets

Why people have their newborns sleeping (extended hours instead of bassinet) in PNP?s???? I thought PNP were for naps or traveling playground?.. . With both our boys we had them in bassinets until about 3 months. Then we transition them over to a crib. We did have a PNP; I don?t even think our 2^nd son slept in it more than 5 times. Not knocking anyone, just curious?.
