Question about breast feeding

Ok- this is my first and my mom wasnt able to breast feed. I have been talking to others but hoped u ladies could help. 

One person said the baby literally "bites" Obvy they don't have teeth- until the milk comes through. Another person said its like squeezing a pimple until it comes through. Another said it just flows without any assistance.

What does it feel like? Is it painful? Uncomfortable? I intend to breast feed if I can buy was hoping for some insight.
