Used car seat and stroller.

My sister has the same travel system I am actually wanting too. Her baby is 9 months old and has almost grown out the car seat, and my sister said that they wont be using the stroller for much longer either. They would rather have one of those cheap fabric fold out strollers for bigger babies.. I'm not sure what they are called. So anyway, it seems silly for me to buy to same exact car seat and travel system if shes not going to be using hers anymore! There hasn't been any accidents and its all in new/good condition. Is this still a no no? And if so, why exactly?
