Painting rooms...

My husband and I have started the renovation of our second floor... Taking it out of its 1970's awesomeness and bringing it into this decade. This currently involves painting the upstairs hallway, the second bedroom, and the baby's room to be. My husband seems to think that I need to completely stear clear of the house during this process. I seem to think that if I steer clear of the upstairs and stay down that I will be okay. Thoughts?
