Babies with earrings?

Ok, I'm not posting this to find out if you think its wrong or right to pierce your little girls ears when they're young. Im just curious to know if anyone had heard of the earrings being a choking hazard for when kids get to be a little older (like they discovered their ears) and then choked on them? Also wondering if getting them pierced young make them look wierd when they're older because of the growing proportions?
