Cracked Nipples

My baby was born 4 days ago and has a hard time getting a perfect latch.  So now both of my nipples are cracked and bleeding.  Can I continue to feed her? Is it safe for her to ingest the blood?  She is also a little less eager to feed now because I'm sure it tastes awful.  What do I do? Any post about this gives remedies for the cracks but no one says what to do in the meantime, how do I feed her? Please help a very frustrated new mom!!!!
