Anybody else had a LEEP done?

I've had 2 LEEP procedures done so my doctor wants to do an ultrasound at 16 weeks instead of waiting for 20 weeks. She said this is because sometimes LEEPs can make the cervix shorter. I was still thinking about finally hearing our baby's heartbeat that I wasn't even thinking about what she was saying. Now I'm wondering what this means, is it a bad thing? Has anybody had experience with LEEPS and a pregnancy?
