sucking on bottle to sleep...

I am pumping and mostly formula feeding. Aside from having issues with her not sleeping laying down unless she's with me, she seems to fall asleep best when she's sucking on her bottle, and not even really eating/sucking eventually, more like chewing on it. I don't want her to keep this going, and I dont really mind her having a pacifier, so I thought I'd try that out but she hates it - she will maybe keep it in 30 seconds and then get mad and spit it out (maybe because nothing is coming out of it?). But when I take the bottle out sometimes, she wakes up and keeps wanting it (but like I said, not hungry it seems since she's just chewing on it or keeping it in her mouth and not eating). Any ideas?
