Help me out with your nap routine

Because good lord, this baby refuses to go down for daytime naps until he is completely exhausted. I try to grab him at the first or second yawn, but it's like he realizes what's going on and says "No way!" I'll change his diaper and put on his swaddle and rock him, but he just gets worked up until he's bawling. Then it's back and forth calm him/starts bawling again until just basically passes out. Why does my kid hate napping so much???

That was half a vent I guess, I'm sure sooner or later he'll get the hang of it.
