Pampers vs. Huggies Size Question

My son has been wearing pampers size 1 diapers and they have been fabulous so far. Last night we ran out of pampers and opened a pack of huggies size one.  Those things are like HALF the size of the pampers and he peed out of both pairs that we put on him last night.

 I'm a FTM. How do huggies size 2 and 3 match up size wise? I have several packs that we received as gifts and I hate to open them up if I need to return them.
