Holiday Family Pictures

Where did you get yours taken at?  I haven't had any professional ones taken of DD since the hospital and I would like to get some now.  Instead of birth announcements, I decided to send family pics.  (We're adopting my cousin.  She moved in over the summer.  So we have 2 family members to introduce.)  It seems like going to an individual professional is crazy expensive.  I hate to ask a friend because I don't want to inconvenience them.  Has anyone tried any of the store ones?  Do they do nice prints?  Will I be able to send them on a holiday card?  Sorry, I don't know any of this!!  Thanks for your help!!
