breastfeeding trouble

I breastfeed my 2.5 month old. But the past week has brought circumstances where pumping and giving him a bottle was necessary. Now he seems to get fussy when he is breastfeeding, almost like he is getting frustrated. As a result he is not eating very well. Is this normal...and what can I do to fix it?
