Warning period?

Hi all!

 I just officially joined the bump today but I have been doing some lurking.  I had a precious little boy 7 weeks ago so this has been a great source of information.

One thing I haven't really found much info on is a warning period, basically that you don't ovulate before your first PP period.  Is this true?  I had my PP appointment two weeks ago and wish I would have thought to ask, but of course I didn't. 

I'm just curious because I'm waiting to start the pill back once I get my period so for now I don't really know if I need to be concerned with getting pregnant or if you are covered until you get your warning period.  

Hopefully this isn't a dumb question, I'm a first time mom so I have never been in this position before!
