Last night my parents watched DS while DH and I had our first night out without the baby. DS is EBF so I didn't really have much of an idea of how much BM he would need. When I went to a breastfeeding support group a few weeks ago, he seemed to be having about 2.5 - 3 ounces per feeding. He is now 7 weeks old (8 weeks on Monday). He'll sometimes stretch to 3 hours but usually still does 2 hours between feedings, often even more frequently than that in the evenings.
I took several ounces of frozen BM to my parents' house, thinking I had more than enough and would be bringing some back home. DS ate it all! He had 3 ounces the first time and then 4 ounces two hours later. Does this sound like too much? I'm trying to get a good idea of how much I'll need for when he starts daycare and now I'm worried that I won't be able to keep up if he's having that much.
Is it normal for a 7 week old to have 3 - 4 ounces every two hours or does that sound like to much?
