Burping at night...

My LO doesn't want to burp after night feedings. I walk him and rub his back for what seems like forever. But as soon as I put him down, he starts to grunt and fuss. When I pick him up again, he usually burps. Is there anything I can do for this? Would Oval or something work? He is not like that during the day though...
