Inguinal Hernia surgery

Hi, I'm a lurker...DS is 7 weeks today and will be having surgery for a bilateral inguinal hernia tomorrow morning. I know it's very common but nothing is common for this 1st time mama! I'm so nervous about the procedure because it's under general anesthesia and I don't want to see him in any pain. Anyone have experience with this?
