another swaddling question

lurker here with a 9 week old baby boy.

For those of you that swaddle for naps, do you swaddle around whatever LO is wearing or strip him/her down? I worry about him overheating.

And, I especially have that question with the miracle blanket. We swaddle at night with Aden + Anais blankets but he breaks out (I may be a bad swaddler). He seems to hate the miracle blanket so we stopped trying... but I may try again if it helped him sleep longer stretches. What do your LOs wear underneath the Miracle Blanket?
