Getting pictures taken of DS

DH and I want to surprise our mothers with a small photo album for Christmas. We are having pictures taken this week by a local photographer who is just starting her business. I'm excited but also a little anxious - I think because the only time we could find that worked with everyone's schedule is in the evening, which is sometimes DS's fussy time. Hopefully we'll manage to keep him happy!

Any tips on helping things go well? Outfits, just diaper, nothing at all? Must-have poses? Anything you want to share from what you have done or would do... or wish you had done. Any advice is appreciated!
