Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Growth spurt, catch up or just hungry?

My little guy turned 2 months on Friday and got his first set of vaccines. He slept it off pretty much all weekend and ate less frequently than usual because of all the sleeping. Now, the last couple of days, he's been getting up once more than usual during the night to nurse, is taking longer at the breast (day and night), and has needed a couple extra ounces of milk when he is with my parents in the mornings.

I know growth spurts don't have to happen "by the book" but i thought 2 months was kind of early for the 3-month spurt. Is it just an extra growth spurt? Or is he playing catch-up for sleeping through feedings over the weekend? Or do babies just have some random hungry days?
