Speaking of Similac Sensitive

We switched to Sim Sensitive & DS has been doing better but I noticed the 1st ingredient is Corn Syrup. I know lactose needs to be replaced by something but is anyone concerned about too much weight gain? Also, does this truly mean they'll be lactose intolerent when older or is it just hard for LO's to digest it now w/ their tiny tummies?
