more frequent feedings?

My LO is just over 6 weeks old and in the past was eating every 3 hours yesterday and today he doesn't want to go more than 2 hours, I know the obviously thing to say is that its the 6 week grown spurt, but it seems he's eating smaller amounts than normal.  We breastfeed except for 2 bottles of expressed breastmilk a day.  a nursing session is much shorter (he already wouldn't nurse for more than 10 min so was pretty efficient before) and when I pump, there isn't very much of a difference like before.   If it matters, he is a preemie and his due date isn't for another 2.5 weeks.   His diaper count seems to be fine, I guess I just need some reassurance that he is fine.
