Weird 1st appt this week

Been really busy this week so I'm getting on here a couple days late.  Baby #2 so I kinda was expecting the same thing as the 1st time around.  Weight/height/urine done by the nurse.  NP takes a look at what the nurse wrote down and got a history.  Said well, we don't really need to do a pelvic exam, do we?  And we can't hear the heartbeat on the doppler yet because it's too early so....

I agreed with her and said okay.  So I went for my labs and that was it.  We scheduled another appointment for like 3 weeks from now.  I'm guessing we'll hear the heartbeat then.  Just a weird first appointment.  Anyone else have this happen?  I mean, I know they don't do u/s in that office and I had the 1 year old with me so maybe that's why she was trying to make it an easy time???
