Hmm...so that funny metallic taste?

Which I have never experienced before today. In fact, I thought it was a really strange symptom to have. Woke up and my mouth was super gross. Tasted like I had been sucking on a metal bar all night. But then I got to thinking...maybe this is related to the bleeding gums? I do notice some blood when I brush, but other than that, I don't. I was just wondering if that symptom was because of the taste of blood or if anyone knew the actual cause of it.
