Delivery pain

Anyone else petrified of the pain that comes with LD? I've had some pretty intense pain before, but I'm imagining that its nothing like LD pain. I haven't decided if I want to go natural or not, but the more I think about it I want something ... but then I get scared of the epidural with a needle in my back. I'm PETRIFIED of needles (I once had an emergency procedure done and I was in the hospital for 9 hours - the IV was done when I first got in and then they didn't touch it. By the time I was on the OR table, they had to stick me 14 times to get an IV back in place. I was afraid of them before, and that incident just made me cry every time I get stuck with anything.)
