Telling my dad, question..

I got my BFP 3 weeks ago and haven't told anyone other than DH and I am about to bust! I have my first appointment/ultrasound on the 3rd. My dads birthday is on Saturday, I would LOVE to tell him on his birthday..having to un-tell him wouldn't be a problem and his support would be nice anyway. I'm wondering if it is fair to do that to him though? Telling him and then God forbid the appointment on the 3rd not go well. Sorry this is so jumbled.
