Cats and babies

I know it's a little early to be worrying about this, but here goes. I have three wonderful cats that are totally my children to me, but I know that there are some dangers to having cats around babies. To those of you who have cats and kids already, what are some of the things I need to keep in mind in order to keep my baby safe without getting rid of my cats? Do I have to completely separate them? Because that sounds sad, I love my fur babies and would hate to have to banish them from half the house, I'd miss them. Any thoughts?
