January 2012 Moms

What's your opinion?

Everyone keeps saying how I've bought way too many clothes and how we need to save clothes for people to get us at the shower.  I understand that people will buy us lots of clothes, but I really don't feel like we have THAT much.

We have:

Newborn sized:

4 Sleepers

1 Carters outfit that came with a pants and two different onesies

1 Dress with a sweater

1 onesie

3 Mo:

2 Outfits (1 being a gift)

3 - Carters Pants + 2 onesies

8 long sleeved onesies

2 pairs of pants

2 sleepers

2 coats: (1 being a gift that we received after I ordered the coat we bought)

Miscellaneous:

1 12 month outfit that was a gift.

2 bibs

3 receiving blankets

2 regular blankets

A couple of pairs of socks that we also received as gifts.

I don't get what the big deal is.  We are having a baby, and we are excited.  Although I have never had a baby, I'm pretty sure they spit up, have blow outs, etc quite often, which may require a change of outfit or two during the day.  I personally don't plan on doing laundry every single day if I can help it.  I don't get why everyone feels the need to comment daily on the amount of clothes we have for our daughter when it isn't that much.  Her closet still looks pretty empty!

Edit:  I forgot to include that mom & I went shopping, and she paid for half the stuff that we bought, so those could be considered gifts too, even though I picked them out.
