Any suggestions for places to visit/stay in Virginia

DH and I are thinking about a babymoon in early November and we were thinking about Virginia. I've never been there but I've heard lots of good things about it. I'd like to go to a cabin in the mountains. I'm thinking mountain views, roaring fire and just the two of us. Any suggestions as to a city or an area?
