Charlotte Moms- neighborhood?

Hey all!

For those of you who live in Charlotte, whereabouts in Charlotte do you live? DH, DD & I live in East Charlotte near Eastland Mall (or, the parking lot that was) & are looking to relocate within Charlotte. We've lived here for most of our lives & are pretty familiar with Charlotte, but neither of us have lived in many different parts of town. Also-it's a different ball game with a baby. We would like to stay near uptown (for DH's job) but we're just really disgusted with the crime in the apartment complex we're in and would like to purchase a home pretty soon.

So- if you don't care to share-

where in general do you live in Charlotte?

what do you like/ dislike about it?

what is nearby that's family friendly? Parks/ Movie theaters/ local groups or kid-friendly stores/restaurants?

Is public transportation available nearby? If you use it- is it efficient in your area?
