Compression stockings?

The swelling has hit. I was going along, swollen-feet free and then mid-day Saturday morning I looked down at my feet and I had no ankles. I actually called in sick today because none of my dress shoes fit! I called the doctor and he had me come in for a quick BP test since the swelling came on so sudden, it's fine, and then declared that I overdid it on vacation and prescribed rest, elevated feet and compression stockings.  Has anyone tried these and found a brand that works? I picked up some Hanes knee highs that are supposed to help circulation until I figure out where one buys compression stockings. Maternity stores? The Internet?
