Shower Theme

Are you having a theme for your shower?  The subject came up today and I didn't know how to answer because I hadn't even thought of that yet.  Is it necessary?  And does it have to do with whatever your "theme" is for the baby's room?  I don't have that, either.  I've just seen some bedding sets I've liked and some colors that are pretty.

 My mom is planning the shower (not proper etiquette?) and it's to be held the weekend before Thanksgiving.  Autumn theme?  I dunno.  Maybe snowflake theme since the baby will be born during the winter, technically?
