Overprotective? MIL rant...

Ok, so my IL's live about 11 hours away (thank goodness), well we are going to make the long trek this weekend to see them and we are staying at MIL's house. She has this ancient crib set up in a room with a bed for me and DH. Thinking that my DS will sleep in it in the same room as us. So I ask SIL if it is a dropside...of course it is. DS has a tendancy to try to climb out of cribs, so the dropside is making me super nervous. So I text MIL and ask her about the crib, the majority of her texts I cant understand, but what I get from it is that it is dropside, something about him not climbing out. So I state we will just bring up the pack n play and set it up in the same room, she says there wont be any room. I seriously think she is being stubborn about this crib thing. Am I being stupid for pushing this issue?
