Maternity Leave Discussion with Boss : )

I know all of the boards have questions about what people's workplace maternity leave policies are, and FMLA and all of that stuff, and while it's important to know what you are eligible for, don't be afraid to ask for time if you want more time! 

I really wanted to take an extended maternity leave (I'm covered by FMLA, but wanted some more time), so I told my boss I'd like to just put a date on the calendar and come back to work after the 4th of July, and she was totally OK with it! I feel so fortunate to be able to swing it financially and to have such a "family-friendly" workplace and boss. Now - it's time to look for daycare!
