A/S - full bladder question

Ok, I know I am a dork for worrying about this and should just be excited to see my LO and find out the gender, but I have my scan in a few weeks and they told me I need to drink 24oz of fluid one hour before the appt. and then not empty my bladder.

I already have to pee all the time anyway and the last time I went to this imaging center for an MRI they left me in the waiting room for 45 minutes because they were running late. Plus they said the appt. will take an hour so I think I will be dying by the end and not even get to enjoy seeing the baby.

Do they let you go pee at some point? Did you guys have to drink this much before your scan?
