Does anyone knit?

Okay, I already complain I don't have enough hours in the day.... (Maybe it's b/c I spend too much time on Pinterest and the Bump.  That's another story though)...but I'm thinking about trying to learn how to knit.  

I was wondering is it hard?  My goal is to knit a chunky scarf.  Does anyone have any recommendations on books, websites, etc?
