You seem to know a LOT about cameras and photography so I was wondering if you would let me know your opinion on a specific camera. Like I've mentioned- I'm just looking for something to take shots of the kids/family that are better than my canon powershot. A camera to learn on that will last me at least a few years. I don't need video- we love our video camera.

What do you think of the canon rebel xs?
