anyone else encounter this frustrating problem?

M must have been having a nightmare last night. he was crying in his crib and getting lounder and louder. i tried to pick him up but he only kicks and hits at me. i let him be and just tried to sooth him, shhh shhhing and pat his back but he get's even more upset and he still doesn't let me pick him up. eventually DH get's up, picks him up and he immediately stops and calms down.

this wasn't the first time this has happened. and several times while he's been awake he's has been very upset (for whatever reason) crying and no matter what i do he will not stop, almost everytime DH or my mom has been the one to calm him down not me.

this is so frustrating for me.
