Question about the anatomy scan

I know for a fact that my a/s was a level 2 US with my boys. So I called Md today to ask for my referral for the level 2 so I could call and schedule it. So the nurse tells me that the a/s doesn't have to be a level 2. Is this true? I thought it had to be a level 2.
