pedi says no milk?

So, I've been seeing a lot of post about transitioning to WCM lately, and wanted to ask a question. Our pedi says that after one, my LO should only be drinking water? His explanation for this is that he should be getting all of his nutrients from his diet, and that WCM is just "empty calories". I've heard that they need the fat for brain growth though, so do you think he's a little crazy? Ib love everything about him, but I do not agree with him on this.
