Lots of screaming and screeching?

Z seems like he is always screaming or screeching.  Is it frustration?  Is it because he wants something he can't have?  He used to be such a happy baby, but I am always running for the excederine bottle these days.  Does your 10 month old scream?  When he wakes up in the morning he lays in his crib and screams at the top of his lungs.  When I go in there he smiles at me.  Grrr. 

As I type this he got stuck between the couch and the end table (trying to get to an electrical cord) and is screaming his fool head off.
