Should I ignore shrieking?

My DD is 13 months (never fixed my ticker after she turned a year)...

She's gotten to where she SHRIEEEKS when she doesn't like something, especially when she's done eating and wants down from her high chair. It's so annoying.

I walk up to her and say "Say pleeeease?"  and "All done? Can you say All done?" and do the sign language for both... but she just ignores me. lol 

Any tips on getting her to stop her blood-curdling, glass-cracking screams?  Is this something that she'll just developmentally stop doing when she is more vocal?  I don't want to encourage it, for sure.
