captain's seats and convertible car seats

My peanut is 28'' and shy of 18 lbs but is about to turn 1 so we are thinking of going ahead and getting a convertible car seat even though she has 2 more inches and a few more pounds before she officially outgrows her infant seat

we have a pacifica and it has captain's seats....does anyone have a convertible car seat in a captain's seat? any recs?
