Reveal party location

So I have been brainstorming like crazy to figure out where in the heck we could have our gender reveal party. I wanted to have it somewhere that we could provide the snacks and everything. Our house was immediately out of the question because we havent been there yet a year and our front room isnt quite finished. I am definately a perfectionist... to the extreme. Well DH's mom just finished construction on her brand new beach cabin on the water. Its gorgeous! We asked if we could have our party there and she is all about it... only problem is that its about a 45 minute drive for everyone.

Do you think its too much to ask people to drive to spend a nice day in the sun?.... I kinda think that its an optional party and the crowd that makes the effort to come with be more fun... and people that dont care as much wont make it. The beach would be great for any kiddos coming with their parents too.
